Following the success of the Legends Football League in America, the sport has decided to create a league in Australia. The league’s inaugural season will kick off in December. With Channel Seven’s 7Mate digital channel coming on board as the league’s broadcaster in Australia, it is destined to have a huge impact on Australian sports during the summer.

Foundation teams have been set up in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA. The NSW team, called the Surge, had me in to shoot their player profile photos at a studio in Alexandria recently.

Here’s a quick teaser of what the photos will look like. It’s only half of the team that were there at the time, as the players came and left at various times throughout the shoot. The official photos are under embargo, until the website (http://www.lflinaustralia.com/) is launched.

The Surge will open their season against the QLD Brigade at their home stadium Centrebet Stadium in Penrith.

Pre-season Power Rankings from the LFL360 website (http://www.lfl360.com/australia/lfl-australia-pre-season-power-rankings/) has the NSW Surge ranked at #1, with Quarterback Jacinda Barclay (pictured centre holding the helmet) as the player to watch.

Tickets are available from Ticketek: http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=LEGENDCB13

Make sure you get out to the games and watch these incredible athletes.
